Legal descriptions

 

A “legal description” is simply the written description of a parcel of land which appears within the deed or conveyance for the parcel. It can be a few words (“lot 6 in Windswept Subdivision”) or it can run on for several pages. In general we only furnish legal descriptions when we can base them on a boundary survey. The deed itself should of course be prepared by an attorney.
