FLOOD INSURANCE DOCUMENTS

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has created maps which show flood hazard zones, and lenders may require flood insurance for any structure that appears to lie within such a zone. However, such a structure may in fact be sufficiently well-elevated to be exempt from this requirement. But FEMA requires proof. York Hill can perform a field survey and submit an application for a Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA). If approved, FEMA will issue a LOMA which should exempt the structure from the insurance requirement. We are registered to obtain eLOMAs from FEMA which in many cases can result in a much quicker issuance of the LOMA. Where necessary we can provide an Elevation Certificate.
